Monitor Audio's New Silver Range Learns New Tricks!
/Monitor Audio's Silver 8s turns a new leaf and takes a number of pages from the GX range.
At first glance you'll see the newly designed concave ‘dished’ C-CAM cone drive units much like the GX series.
A first for the Silver range is the introduction of a dedicated mid-range driver which has proven to provide a huge leap forward compared to the previous RX8s, vocals are so much smoother & more controlled!
The improvements don't stop there... Inside, Monitor Audio have upgraded the internal speaker cable to a Pureflow® Silver plated OFC & a high quality three-way crossover configuration, which allows the drivers to be optimised to deliver a better overall performance. To top that off the new Silver range is constructed using a rigid 20mm MDF cabinet throughout, employing radial and cross-bracing techniques for high rigidity and low cabinet colouration.
The new Silver's are ever impressive, incorporating design techniques from the GX range which we feel has allowed the new Silvers to grow up into a more refined & enjoyable speaker range at this price point.
